On behalf of all 300 SAR groups and our 9000 volunteers across Canada we are committed to ensuring that the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools is never forgotten.
How can you recognize the importance of Truth and Reconciliation?
?Honour residential school survivors, the lives and communities impacted by the residential school system in Canada by listening to their stories.
? Participate in quiet reflection by attending a community event and wearing orange.
? Tune in to national events.
?Acknowledge and respect the land of the traditional stewards by recognizing the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.
? Promote learning at a school or place of work, if you are not marking the statutory holiday.
